Blender 5.2 LTS has been released with long-term support until July 2028. Its largest addition is an experimental Geometry Nodes physics system for procedural hair and cloth simulation, alongside geometry bundles and lists, a Bevel node, audio sampling, and support for Geometry Nodes on Empty objects.
Production workflows gain remote asset libraries that can be browsed and downloaded on demand, including Blender Online Essentials, while Cycles adds a texture cache for reducing memory use in texture-heavy scenes. Rendering updates also include a Thin Wall mode for the Principled BSDF, and modelling gains native Circle, Space, and Flatten tools from the LoopTools add-on.
Further changes include a redesigned Grease Pencil fill system, the Scene Project brush and primitive placement in Sculpt Mode, improved attribute preservation during voxel remeshing, and VR location scouting. For AEC users and teams, the LTS support window, remote asset sharing, procedural tools, texture handling, and VR workflow are the most relevant changes; see the full release notes for details.
